Guru Commandments
In a world where people live whichever way they please, so that we do not stray that way, but walk according to the guru's word, receive grace and blessings, and live a fulfilled life — these are the 21 commandments and life guidelines that devotees who have received the deeksha of the infinite Sri MahaShakti must follow.
These are codes filled with complete wisdom-worship that guide food, mind, action, relationships, meditation, devotion, discipline, prosperity, wealth, and righteous living.
1Daily Gift
The moment you wake up in the morning, think that Sri MahaShakti has gifted today's day in your hands as an opportunity, and begin the day's life. Learn to live.
Begin each day with dedication, saying “Sathyam Samarppanam! Mahashakthikku Arpanam!!”
2The Body is a Temple
Keep the body clean with bathing; the body is a temple! Apply sandalwood on the forehead.
Bathe daily, apply sandalwood, experience sanctity through the body.
3Earn Both Material and Grace
Begin the day with a pure thought: “Today I will earn not only money — but also the grace of my Guru MahaShakti!”
“Surrender at the Guru's feet, surrender at the divine feet! Surrender to GuruShakti, surrender to MahaShakti!!”
4Extend Life Through Food
Receive food as the grace of God, with gratitude.
“May this nectar given to me to attain my purpose also be given to other living beings. Om Shanti.” Say this before eating.
5Self-Introspection
At the end of every night, sit quietly for at least 15 minutes and examine your own rights and wrongs of the day.
Cleanse the mind's burdens; let the mind bathe; purify it.
6Guide Others
Just as someone helped you come onto the right path, you too try every day to guide at least one person in devotion.
God's friendship will come through even your small help.
7The Ultimate Truth is God's Closeness
If you avoid lies, trickery, and causing conflict, God will speak with you.
“Lies give temporary help; they permanently abandon. Truth seems to abandon; it permanently protects.”
8Speak Good Words
Every day, say a good word to at least one person — that is a good deed; it is also the way prosperity increases.
Greet and speak to others saying “You will come out well,” “Your devotion is praiseworthy.”
9Do It With MahaShakti as Witness
Do not calculate wrongly thinking “No one is watching” — MahaShakti, who pervades everywhere, is always watching you.
Whatever you do, do it as an offering given to God.
10Correct Mistakes Immediately
Do not make a mistake a second time — that is the true atonement.
Making mistakes is human nature; correction is divine. One who corrects himself becomes a friend of the divine.
11Do Not Compare, Do Not Envy
Do not blame or condemn anyone out of jealousy — it brings evil consequences.
Not comparing oneself with others and not gossiping are themselves great austerities.
12The Mantra is a Protective Shield
Chant the name “Om MahaShakti! Jai GuruShakti!!” at least 108 times daily.
The name is the dance of the soul; the protection of the soul.
13Everything is His Divine Play
Learn to see everything that happens in life as “MahaShakti's play.”
Even if thrown into fire, you will emerge as refined gold; learn to come out tested through trials.
14Be True to God
If you are true to people, they will forget; but if you are true to God, he will give grace and blessings abundantly.
He will bless with grace and blessings as both interest and principal!
15From Now On, Your Guru and God is MahaShakti
For you who have surrendered saying “Om MahaShakti! Jai GuruShakti!!”, liberation is certain now; no one can bind you.
Your liberation is in your hands — make sure devotion does not wane.
16Devotion is Wealth
Even in the hard times of life, do not lose faith; devotion gives tenfold.
Trust that “MahaShakti will make even this pass”; in the end, grace and blessing will come.
17Do Not Postpone
Complete the day's duties on that day itself; be active.
Say “Sathyam Samarppanam.. Mahashakthikku Arppanam..!” and do it. MahaShakti is the one who rewards.
18MahaShakti is Both your Relation and Friend
Do not grieve saying “No one supports me, no one understands me.” Your new life begins today with your devotion.
MahaShakti, the mother and father, is protecting, nurturing, and guiding you!
19Sathyameva Jayate
There is no meaning in “Hello”; everything is contained in “Only Truth prevails.”
Morning, evening, night — always fold both hands in salutation and say “Sathyameva Jayate.”
20No Counter-Word to the Guru's Word
Follow the guru's word — it is the remedy that removes sins; light in a darkened life.
Cherish the guru's word and the ashram's activities as your very life; it will protect you and your lineage.
21Being a MahaShakti Devotee is Itself the Pride
Every day, do not forget “I am a devotee of Sri MahaShakti” — that is my greatest first treasure.
That very memory will keep you on the divine path and protect you. Be an example before everyone.
These are not 21 commandments — in the darkness of this life your soul traverses, they are 21 paths of light..!
